Shipper’s Responsibility

Persons who send dangerous goods by air must ensure that the dangerous goods are properly classified, packed, marked, labelled and declared and that all of the applicable air transport requirements have been met. Shippers who are offering a consignment with dangerous goods to the airlines must be as well duly trained. The dangerous goods can only be consigned with freight forwarding companies or airlines.

Sending by Post

Do not post them – it is illegal and extremely unsafe to put dangerous goods in the mail.

In accordance with the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Convention, to which Czech post is a signatory, dangerous goods are not permitted in the mail for air carriage.

Caution

Before sending any product that may be considered as dangerous goods, you should first seek advice from the appropriate air transport freight forwarder or the airline operator. Failing to declare dangerous goods can result in fines or imprisonment.
